The Sunday Club
On the 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month, the Sunday Club enjoys a morning of games, craft, learning and fun in the Congregational Hall adjacent to the church starting at 9.30am. All children ages 5-11 are welcome, and we also have the extra bonus of breakfast there too! At about 11.15 we join the adults in the church for the end part of the service... Parents/carers can enjoy an hour or two of quiet on a Sunday, and participate in the Sunday morning service or simply collect their children at 11.20. All are welcome to stay for refreshments from 11.30 to 12.00 in the church.
Knit and Knatter
Knit and Natter is a group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, tapestry, embroidery, anything else in the crafty line, or just enjoys a good natter with a cup of tea and a biscuit! In the past, we have knitted squares for blankets and ‘twiddle muffs’ for dementia patients, but mostly people just bring along whatever project they are working on at the time. Conversation flows freely over a hot drink and a little something to eat, and the amount of knitting/crochet/embroidery which gets done is highly variable! It’s all about getting together!
Knit and Natter meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the Congregational Hall and we pay a £2 subscription to cover hall hire and other expenses. When we have a reasonable amount of spare cash in the kitty, we donate money to local good causes such as Kingsbridge Food Bank and the Attic Youth Club.
All are welcome to join us, no matter what your level of expertise is - there is always someone who can help you with those tricky bits!

Beesands Rovers FC is a long-standing grassroots football club at the heart of the local community.
Founded in 1922 in the village of Beesands, the club spent generations playing at The Cellars following the Second World War. Our pitch by the sea became part of the club’s identity, full of character and stories, where clearances and sliced shots often ended up in the water and even taking a corner came with its challenges. For those who played there, it’s a ground that will never be forgotten.
In 2018, Storm Emma brought that chapter to a close, forcing us to leave our historic home after more than 100 years in Beesands. Since then, we’ve continued our journey, first at Modbury and now in Loddiswell, where we’re proud to have found a new home. We are hugely grateful to the Loddiswell Playing Fields and Village Hall Trust for their support in helping us continue.
While locations may change, what really defines Beesands Rovers hasn’t. We are a true grassroots club built on community, togetherness, and a shared love of the game. We have a strong mix of players, from long standing members of the club to new faces and we place real value on creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and part of something.
For us, it’s as much about the people as it is the football. Matchdays and training are about enjoyment, effort, and backing each other, with friends, family, and supporters all playing their part on and off the pitch. Whether you’re playing, watching, helping out, or just passing by with the dog, you’re part of the club.
We may be Rovers by name, but wherever we play, we’ll always be Beesands.
